Lake Hopatcong Train Station
The Lake Hopatcong Train Station project received a 2021 NJAIA-Newark and Suburban Design Award, earning a Silver for Historic Preservation. This was the only project to receive an award for Historic Preservation this year. The evaluators loved the project, the story of the station, and all of the detailing that went into the restoration. This is the first time Connolly & Hickey submitted a nomination to the Newark and Suburban Chapter of NJAIA. The project has truly been a team effort with the Lake Hopatcong Foundation, O’Donnell Construction, and Alden Bailey Restoration Corp. Funding for the project was provided by the Morris County Historic Preservation Trust Fund and Preserve New Jersey.
